BIG BEN
Big
Ben is the term used to refer to the Great bell of the clock at the north
end situated at the Palace of Westminster.
The tower is officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, named in tribute to Queen
Elizabeth II in her Diamond Jubilee Year,
and it was buitl from 1843 to 1858. The Big Ben is one of the best known
icons of London, and has been voted the Most Iconic Film Location in London.
It is also one of tourists´ favourite places in London since it has an ancient
and pinturesque view. Another popular tourist attraction is its height, which
impresses all the peoble who visite it. Despite of being one of the most famous
tourist attractions, it is not open to enter insite to overseas visitors.
However, the tower hasn´t got any lift, so those who wanted to climb it have to
climb the 334 limestone stairs to the top.
Last
year, I visited London with my classmates and we stayed there for three days.
Although this was a very short period of time to see all famous places in
London, we could see The Big Ben and took a lot of photos with it.
To
sum up, I want you to recomend to visit this beautiful construction and
monument because it is a remarkable place to visit when you go to London.
